Event Details

This is an introduction to Safeguarding & Child Protection issues for those working in small community groups.  You will gain a basic understanding of your role in establishing a safe environment and safe working practices in protecting children and young people from harm and abuse.

This course is for:

Those who have contact with children or young people as part of a small community project/group.

 Feedback from an attendee:

“A very professional and knowledgeable trainer –everything was covered in a non-threatening way and I now feel much better prepared to deal with child protection issues.”

This course will take place from 13:30 - 16:30. Places are free to:

  • Volunteers from any Brighton and Hove organisation working with children, young people and their families
  • Paid workers in organisations with an annual turnover of less than £25,000

You are required to:

  • Bring a letter with you from your organisation confirming your voluntary role
  • Additionally in order to ensure that every participant gets the most from our training we can only book on a maximum of 4 attendees per organisation per training date.

From our experience we know that any more than this can affect the group dynamic and the session can end up focused on one particular group and we would like everyone to feel included in the training - Sessions are far more exciting when there is a good mix of diverse participants from several organisations! If you have more than 4 people needing training on one set date get in touch:

Lynne.charmer@safety-net.org.uk

If for any reason you are unable to attend the training please contact us on 01273 420973 or by email ellie.talebian@safety-net.org.uk at your earliest convenience to cancel your place and to avoid cancellation charges (£50.00 per day for failure to attend without notification).
